Upload your web pages with CuteFTP

NOTE: The following instructions are for publishing to personal web sites. For publishing to commercial domain name sites refer to Setting up your domain on Access Orlando in our Customer Support section.

These instructions are based on CuteFTP 2.8 for Windows 95/98 installed with basic options, but should apply to other recent releases and versions for Windows 3.x as well.

To access your web site use the location:
http://www.ao.net/~username

Start CuteFTP
In the FTP Site Manager window, click Personal FTP Sites
Click the Add site button
Under Site Label enter something like My Personal Site
Under Host Address enter ftp.ao.net
Under User ID enter your username
Under Password enter your password
Under Login Type select Normal
Under Transfer Type select Auto-Detect
Host Type should be set to Auto-Detect
Under Initial Remote Directory enter public_html
Leave Remote Directory Filter blank
Under Initial Local Directory, either type in the directory where you have the files to be uploaded, or click the ... button to select the directory
Leave Local Directory Filter blank
Click Apply if available, click OK (nothing needs to be changed under the Advanced tab)
You will now see My Personal Site in the upper-right corner of the window, make sure this is highlighted
Click the Connect button

After clicking Connect, your computer will "connect" with ao.net You will see a list on the left side of the window which will be your web page files on your computer, and on the right side will be a list of your web page files on ao.net

For help on transferring files with CuteFTP, click Help from the top, then click Contents.

When you're done uploading your files, click FTP from the top, then click Disconnect. The files you uploaded/changed will be immediately viewable. If still looks like it did before the update, click your browser's Refresh/Reload button.
