Chichen Itza - Platform of the Jaguars and Eagles

A small square platform of four stairways with balustrades which, according to Diego DeLanda, served to present dances and other spectacles. In the Maya-Toltec style of relief carving, eagles and jaguars are depicted in the act of devouring hearts, probably alluding to military orders known by these names in post classic Mesoamerica. In addition, there are personages in a semi reclining position and the always present plumed serpents.
